Terms of use
Version 2026-09-29 · Last updated: 29 September 2026
These terms apply when you use Drop: the iPhone and Android app from the App Store and Google Play, the web version at chat.prahapp.cz and this website. The community rules are part of these terms. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
1. Who provides Drop
Drop is provided by Buinsoft Technology s.r.o., Na Folimance 2155/15, Vinohrady, 120 00 Praha 2, Czech Republic, company ID (IČO) 19795319, VAT ID (DIČ) CZ19795319, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, file C 391716 ("we"). Contact: info@prahapp.cz.
If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply. We are responsible for Drop and its support.
2. Accepting the terms
When you set up Drop, the app asks you to accept these terms and the community rules. By accepting them, or by using Drop, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Drop. When we change the terms in a significant way, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue.
3. Minimum age
You must be at least 18 years old to use Drop. By accepting these terms you confirm that you are. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
4. Your account
- When you first open Drop on your phone, an account is created for that phone automatically. You do not give us a phone number or an email address. During setup you choose your name and username; you can change both later.
- Until you set a password, the account is tied to your phone. It stays when you reinstall the app, but it is lost if you reset the phone. With a password (Profile › Settings › Set a password) you can also sign in on other devices and at chat.prahapp.cz. On a computer you can also sign in by scanning a QR code with your phone.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Your name, username and profile photo must follow the community rules and must not suggest that you are someone else. We may change or remove ones that do not.
- Drop is currently free of charge and has no in-app purchases.
5. What Drop offers
With Drop you can send text, photos, videos, voice messages, video messages and files, make voice and video calls, create groups, share stories that disappear after 24 hours, translate messages and calls, keep a debt ledger with friends and share tasks with reminders. We keep developing Drop, so features may change.
6. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted
What you send is stored on our servers in readable form. Drop administrators can view message content, including photos, videos, voice messages, files and messages deleted in the app. We use this access for moderation, handling reports, protecting users and support, and when the law requires it. Details are in the privacy policy.
7. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not use Drop to send, share or store content, or to behave in a way, that breaks the community rules or the law. In particular, the following is not allowed:
- child sexual abuse material and any sexualisation or exploitation of minors, including trying to build a relationship with a child for sexual purposes (grooming). We remove such content, delete the accounts involved and report them to the authorities;
- harassment, bullying, threats and incitement to violence;
- hate speech against people because of their origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics;
- pornography and other sexual content, and sharing intimate images of anyone without their consent;
- promoting terrorism or violent extremism, and encouraging suicide or self-harm;
- scams, fraud, spam, and links or files that harm devices or steal data;
- pretending to be another person or organisation;
- selling or promoting illegal goods or services, such as drugs or weapons;
- sharing other people's personal data or images without their permission, and infringing copyright or other rights;
- trying to get into other people's accounts, disrupting the service, getting around its limits or collecting data from it with automated tools.
8. Reporting content and accounts
In the app you can report a message (press and hold it), a person (on their profile or in the chat menu), a group member (in the group's member list), a group (in the group menu) and a story (while viewing it). You can also block anyone.
Anyone, including people without a Drop account, can report content they believe is illegal or breaks these terms by writing to info@prahapp.cz. Please include:
- why you think the content is illegal or breaks the rules;
- where it is: the username or group name and, if you can, the date and time of the message or story;
- your name and email address (not needed if you are reporting child sexual abuse material);
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete.
We review reports within 24 hours. If you reported by email, we confirm that we received your report and tell you what we decided.
9. What we do about violations
Depending on how serious a violation is, we remove the content, suspend the account for a time or delete it for good. For the most serious violations, such as child sexual abuse material, credible threats or fraud, we delete the account without warning. We report child sexual abuse material and suspected crimes that put someone's life at risk to the police or other competent authorities.
If we suspend your account, you see the reason in the app. If we removed your content or deleted your account, you can ask for the reason at info@prahapp.cz. If you disagree with a decision, write to the same address within six months and include your username. A member of our team reviews your objection and we let you know the outcome. You can also turn to an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act, or to a court.
10. Automatic word filter
A word filter runs on our server. Messages with certain severe terms are not sent at all, and others are marked for administrators to see.
11. Translation and other AI features
Translation of messages, voice messages, videos and calls, and transcription, use artificial intelligence from Google. These features only work after you allow them in the app, and you can withdraw permission at any time under Profile › Settings › Translation › AI permission. Machine translation can be wrong or incomplete, so check anything important with the other person. If someone you chat with uses these features, your messages or your voice in a call are also processed for translation.
12. Debt ledger and shared tasks
The debt ledger only records what you and the other person enter: who owes whom, how much, and which payments were made. Drop does not move money, process payments or check whether a record is true, and we are not a party to arrangements between users. Do not rely on task reminders for anything important; they can arrive late or not at all.
13. Your content
What you send stays yours, and you are responsible for it. You confirm that you have the right to share it. You allow us to store, transmit and display your content, and to translate it when you or the recipient ask, to the extent needed to run Drop, moderate it and meet legal obligations. This permission ends when the content is erased from our servers, except where the law requires us to keep it.
14. Screenshots
Screenshots are on by default. In chats with someone who turned screenshots off in Settings (in a group, if any member turned them off), the app blocks screenshots and screen recordings and shows a notice in the chat when someone tries. View once photos are always protected. This does not stop anyone from photographing the screen with another device, it does not work in the web version, and it does not apply to Drop administrators. Keep this in mind when you share something.
15. Availability and changes
We work to keep Drop running, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. Drop cannot call emergency numbers and is not a replacement for emergency services. In an emergency, call 112 or your local emergency number.
16. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost profits or lost data, or for content that users send. This does not limit our liability where the law does not allow a limitation, in particular for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence and for harm to life or health, and it does not affect your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
17. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Drop and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or delete your account if you break these terms or the community rules, or if the law requires it. If we decide to stop providing Drop, we will announce it in the app in advance.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when Drop gets new features or the law changes. We announce significant changes in the app and ask you to accept the new version. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account. The version and date are shown at the top of this page.
19. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Czech law. If you use Drop as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Disputes are decided by the competent courts of the Czech Republic; if mandatory rules give you the right to go to a court in your own country, that right remains. Consumers can also use out-of-court dispute resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz).
